Authorities want to speak with the driver of a car who is believed to have “valuable information” related to a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred earlier this month in Gloucester County.
John DeMarco, 58, of Turnersville, was hit by a vehicle as he walked in the southbound lane of Fries Mill Road near Adele Drive, south of the intersection with Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, around 8 p.m. on Nov. 4, police said.
DeMarco was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he later died of his injuries, according to police.
The vehicle that hit him left the scene and the driver had not been identified.
The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office released images Friday of a car they say was seen traveling on Town Center Boulevard, Hurffville-Cross Keys Road and Fries Mill Road in Washington Township between 8 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. on the night of the crash.
“If you have any information about the driver or the vehicle that may assist in the investigation, please reach out to authorities,” the prosecutor’s office wrote. “Your assistance could be crucial.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Washington Township Police Detective Matthew Laudenslager at 856-589-0330, ext. 1176, or Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Krystal Santiago at 856-384-5508.
